The HSMP looks very attractive if you don't know the details. Yes, you get a visa even without a job offer but they give you only one year to find a job. After 1 year in the UK you'd better have a job or you will most likely send you back to your home country (you go through a government review after 1 year). Of course, if you find a good job during that first year you should be OK.
The pro I see in this is that if you are patient and work for 5 years in the UK you will get your EU passport and yo now have mobility to other parts of Europe where the IT and other industries might be better (like Ireland)

Can you share how you can check your status online after you've filed I-485? Who would send you the URL --your immi lawyer or the USCIS? Also, my lawyers filed said they filed my 485, AP, EAD the same day. Is that possible?
Go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and register as a customer from the left panel. Once you register you can enter your receipt numbers and track your case. If there is a case status update they will send you an email.

Hello all,
It appears that my green card is lost in mail.
My spouse received her 10 days back. Our 485 was approved on same day, so I think mine must be lost.
I will wait for another couple of days for it to appear. Meanwhile I had few questions
1. What is the process to getting a duplicate?
2. If I just get GC stamped on my passport, will I be able to transit from Paris or London airport?

I went to PennDOT to renew my PA Driver license and they took all my pepers. Offcer informed me that he cannot get verification for my Immigration status so he can not renew my License.
They gave me a printed peper which says we will informed you by letter within 21 dyas.

We should note that this bill was introduced in mid march and we didn't have any clue (including IV) sometimes chances of such bills may be easier to pass if the bill author chooses to include the provisions into another bill. Sometimes it better to stay low and get the provisions passed..;) ..... Overall i feel the provisions of this bill may get included into another one like 6039 or so

I-131 form is used for issuing re-entry permits, refugee travel & advance parole documents.
AOS applicants are issued advance parole document. The biometrics rule is only for those individuals who are issued re-entry & refugee travel documents.

The instructions include changes effective March 5, 2008 that require applicants for re-entry permits and refugee travel documents to provide biometrics (e.g., fingerprints and photographs) at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for background and security checks and to meet requirements for secure travel and entry documents containing biometric identifiers.
Q. May an I-131 applicant for a re-entry permit or refugee travel document complete biometrics outside of the United States?
A. Form I-131 instructions provide guidance for certain persons who are abroad at the time of filing to visit a U.S. Embassy or consulate for fingerprinting, although all applicants are urged to file before leaving the United States. Since certain overseas offices have the discretion to accept and adjudicate applications for refugee travel documents, although it is not mandatory that they do so, an applicant for a refugee travel document may complete biometrics outside of the United States, but is encouraged to wait to travel until his or her biometrics have been collected and the document delivered. As discussed earlier, certain overseas USCIS offices may, in their discretion, adjudicate Form I-131 filed for a refugee travel document (but not re-entry permits), where the applicant has failed to apply while in the U.S. (see 8 C.F.R. � 223.2(b)(2)(ii)). However, applicants for refugee travel documents should not count on the overseas offices necessarily agreeing to adjudicate Form I-131 in all cases, particularly where it is evident that the individual could have applied while in the U.S. and attended his or her biometrics appointment. Did the police officers say anything against the deities or your culture? From your post, I assume no..if that's the case then you should understand the police officers are trained not to take their shoes off and take protective measures for themselves first when they are in these situations. In fact , even an internet cable guy won't take his/her shoes off when at work. As long as their purpose was not to harass you and they came with good intensions to help your family (in case something was really going on) you should take positives out of it that they acted quickly but only you can tell how they behaved and if your race or culture affected their behavior.

I am trying to figure out how much latency is to be expected in allotment of a GC for a case whose PD comes current sometime in the future and the processing date at whose service center too is later than the application date for the case at the time the PD comes current.

W-2 is the form you would have received from your employer. Against which you field your tax returns. relax and send both. W2- says what you've earned. Tax returns explains what IRS has earned on you. Everyone's happy.

When I put in my application for a 7th year extension based on the fact that my labor was pending for more than a year, I did get a 3 year extension. My company lawyer applied again requesting a one year extension and I recently got it approved.
I believe the assumption from his side was that even though the labor was approved for 3 year it is upto us to get it corrected. Hope this helps. But I believe this would be a good question for one of those conference calls.

If you are sponsoring your spouse, you need to submit an affidavit of support. It is I-134. This forms needs for you to submit bank statements, tax returns etc. with it.
