Folks who opened an SR and had NSC-CSC-NSC transfers, what is the format of the ref # the Cust Service Rep gave you??
I got a # of the format T1NXXXXXXXXXXXCSC format.
I also got this format. but response, came from NSC after 30 days of filing SR.
I had called in the middle to confirm whether SR went to CSC. Rep said requests will get to apprpriate service center.
the other problem is for people like us, the status says " case traansferred and pending at uscis office". I find that reps find it hard to figure out where it is pending. because of wac number, they sometimes conclude it is CSC.
the status on phone says "pending at lincoln".

We'll find other things to worry about after the GC. However, I think a focus on learning/self improvement, health (exercise and meditation should go a long way..although i haven't really spent as much time as i should on this) and most importantly on financial objectives should help.
Most of us are here to secure our financial futures. Focus on good investing practices, learning how to invest both your money and in yourself. The worst thing we can do is to be paralyzed in thought and action by USCIS processes.

I thinks EB3 INDIA will move between 9/11/2001 to JAN 2004 , because after 9/11 probably few people applied for GreenCrd because of market condition, even h1b quotas are not used for 2002 and 2003, i applied for h1b on 2004 April , no surprise the quota available because of market condition.
This could be dream. I have been waiting for last 4 Yrs to see my date to be current. It took 3 Yrs to move just 6 months. Mine is 12/2001(EB3-India). 2 more months..sorry 2 more years to wait...
I don't blame anyone. EB3 are less educated or less skilled than EB2. America wants Highly educated. They process EB2 first. Any leftovers Visas will be given to EB3 guys. Hence EB3 people have to face long waiting. This is my understanding of how they process EB3...

Previous years Oct Visa Bulletins doesn't look encouraging at all, EB-3 India moved by a week and other categories move by a month or 2. With USCIS taking huge no. of applications in june'07 the future of oct'07 seems to be pretty bleak, It is quiet depressing. We surely need this legislation of ability to file 485 even if visa dates not current.

lawsuite and all will never get us to a point where we want. nobody can force
the state department or the USCIS to forcefully accept 700K applications, and then for next 20 years the dates will be struck. specially for people who have been waiting since 2000,2001 and 2002 cannnot be clubed together with people who came in 2006 or 2007, that is going to be fairly injustice and they know that.
I think it will be better to focus our energy on legislative changes or else nothing will get done, no body can push 700K applications down to the throats of USCIS when that have already exausted the quota.
better focus on contacting senators or house members to get some legislative relief.

I have a suggestion regarding this (just a thought). Maybe some DC members can provide contact to core IV, so that when these guys go to DC, they can stay with IV members than staying in hotels. This will save some of their personal money. We should donate our airlines miles (I know this was discussed earlier also).

Yup, kshitijnt you are right on target, we need to do some thing constructive and let our voices heard.

My intention was more to think in right way and discourage potential -ve result bound strategies.
During presidential campaign there were all over promises on clearing backlogs, we can go on that basis and make a point of that.
One thing is clear if they like to stop outsourcing sure they have to encourage and stream line legal immigration they cannot stop or survive but cutting outsourcing as well leaving this legal immigration in limbo.
Besides what we can do at this juncture, keep our voices heard by contacting, writing letters.

I wish they go after the fake companies that acts as GC boutique and also those who "bought" GC from them. (I mean not really bought, but who got GC from a company who originally never intended to work for them or never did). And of course use those numbers for LEGITIMATE cases (I hate to see those numbers go waste).

We paid money and asking for proper transparent service. There are so many inconsistencies about the way USCIS/DOS operate and utter lack of transparency in case handling. Added to this the process is complicated forcing us to spend $$ with lawyers. If I am paying money I need to know how USCIS is going to give me the service. And once known, USCIS should make it transparent so I know that they are sticking with it. THere was an excellent compilation that I saw few days back about the inefficiencies in USCIS.
We cannot accept that they have 1million application and so they are faltering. If they cannot handle that many why take $$ from us. They could had streamlined resources/applications, etc.. but why is it my problem. I have been lawful and following all the rules. Now when will it ever be USCIS/DOS turn? Investing 10 + years in US and going back is not acceptable...

I understand that you want to use experience before PD. However, there is no much gain and makes it more complex.
For example, the person who does not start PD for 5 years on work can get only 6 months earlier preference.
My thoughts.
For old PD, pending I-140 should not be bottleneck.
PD should be first criteria but US experience should not be ignored completely. US experience should be giving less point then PD.
10 points for each month for PD and 1 point for each month for being in US. GC priority should be created after calculating total points for PD and for being in US.

I am sorry to tell you that if you are not a voter and you do not clarify that at the time you call or fax congressmen, your request is practically useless. Don't believe if others tell you otherwise.
I made phone calls to all (10 + 2) successfully left messages for 8 but the following 4 had issues,
Sen. Cornyn's and Sen. McConnell's office phone systems do not direct you to a voicemail system (I was calling after office hours so I couldnt speak to someone either), and,
I get a 'voicemail machine full' message from the Reid and Martinez offices.
Wonder if anyone else has faced the same problem.
Will try those 4 again tomorrow

Folks, it is time for the H1B community to grow up. Business is business. I am not a blood sucking deshi firm, or a silent partner. On the contrary, I happen to be a trained mediator, published author on conflict management and professional in strategy/organizations. GC comes with a 'sleeve' to keep the card safely. The pouch in the sleeve have special silver lining to prevent 'de-magnetisation' over the period. Please, take due care as its not easy to get replacement.
I was advised so, at SSA. As I was about to put the card in my wallet (Ya, I went to SSA to update my ssn) gentleman at the window interrupted me. I thought I should share this small tip with IVian fella.

Please don't get me started now. Almost everyone on this forum lurks because of self interest. If one has to do public service , I would join a organization like CRY etc.
